Mikeala & Jon | Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado Couple Winter Session

We visited Rocky Mountain National Park for the first time in early March, 2019. We wanted to work with a couple while we were out there, and started asking around to our local friends to see if they knew anyone interested. Another photographer friend of mine recommended Mikeala and Jon to us, and I’m so glad she did! We had the most fun sunrise session in the Rocky Mountains.

They woke up as early as 4am to start the drive to meet us, these two are troopers! The original path we were going to do the shoot at was closed, so we pulled off on the side of the road and decided to shoot there. Hilariously, they’re car got stuck in the snow, and Jeremiah spent the whole session time trying to shovel them out! I’ll never forget that memory, it started the session off in such a fun lighthearted way.

We witnessed the most beautiful sunrise that morning, and you can still see some pink and purple colors in the first few images. A few minutes later, the snowy mountains then got an orange misty glow from the rising sun. These two also brought along their pup for some photos, I can’t even express how much I love incorporating dogs into couple sessions! After we wrapped up photos, we got warm and celebrated with some donuts and coffee from Estes Park. Love these two and I’m so thankful for their willingness, I’m glad they chose us to take these photos for them!
