Noah & Katie | Shenandoah National Park Sunrise Proposal

On October 10th, we arrived to Big Meadows campground in Shenandoah National Park, Virginia. Noah and Katie arrived about an hour after dark, promptly made a fire, and Noah cooked us turkey meatballs and rice. We got to get to know them over dinner and a bonfire, and went to bed early so we could wake up before the sunrise to do the Hawksbill Peak hike. This hike and peak is one of my favorite spots on the park, and I’d never seen it at sunrise before! It views at the top certainly did not disappoint.

Katie thought this was a photo shoot for their anniversary, but little did she know Noah had been planning this for months. Once on top of the mountain, I could tell how nervous Noah was. I thought back to our phone conversation a month prior, where he was left completely speechless just talking about how excited he was to spend his life with Katie. When I saw Noah was ready to get it done, I pulled the photo book from my backpack, and handed it over. We had planned for him to give the book to me the night before, so she wouldn’t see him with it as they hiked up the mountain! Our plan succeeded seamlessly.

They sat together on the edge of the mountain top, flipped through the book and relived the memories of their relationship up to this point. Noah then got down on one knee, and asked Katie to spend the rest of her life with him.

Here is their proposal story gallery. Jeremiah also videoed their proposal, which I highly recommend you watch after this blog. You can click here to watch their video!
