Portland, Oregon | Our Epic One Day Itinerary

Last July, Jeremiah and I flew to the west coast along with many other photographers to embark on a road trip to see the Pacific Northwest. The middle of our trip was spent in Portland, Oregon. We spent several days in the area, but this day was my absolutely favorite. For today’s blog, I’m really feeling the adventure bug and want to tell you all about our most epic one day itinerary in/around Portland. Hope you all are inspired to go see these spots yourself!

stop #1: Trillium Lake

It all started with sunrise at Trillium Lake. This lake has an incredible view of Mount Hood! During the day in the summer, many people come from all over to spend time on the beach and go swimming with their family in the Lake. In order to avoid crowds, sunrise is always best (and of course very beautiful). We all woke up at 3am, drove to Trillium Lake, and it certainly did not disappoint.

Stop #2: Downtown Portland

On Instagram I am very open about the fact that all of my editing is based on LKO Presets, by Lukas Korynta. I am such a fan of these presets, I plug Lukas all the time, because they’re seriously the best. Gotta give credit where it’s due!

Lukas let me know months ago if we were ever in Portland, he would love to meet up for coffee. We finally got to make that happen! We met up with Lukas and his girlfriend Gracie. We talked all things camera, drank coffee, and walked around Portland to take some pictures. This was an incredible experience for me, getting to know someone who I look up to so much in this industry, + take photos of him and his girlfriend! It was incredible, and definitely my favorite memory from our PNW trip.

PS- Shortly after we met these two, Lukas proposed to Gracie and they recently got married! Congrats you guys, can’t wait for our paths to cross again!

Stop #3: Cannon Beach

This beach is so iconic, it’s been on top of my list for a long time. Even though I knew it would be crowded, I really wanted to see it at sunset since the beach is facing west! Even though there was lots of people, we were still able to find a secluded spot on the beach to shoot at with a perfect view of Haystack rock! This incredible black dress was given to us by Sew Romantic Designs, and florals were provided by the amazing Brenna Burnett. Rachel & Ryan modeled for us, and we even got a little bit of sun peaking through at the end! After the sun had set, we took some rad motorcycle pictures during blue hour. Such an incredible way to end an adventure packed day! Missing Oregon so much, thankful I have these photos from our first trip there.
